We had plans to attend a Juneteenth event and record content as our last blog post of the month but logistically that did not work out. Instead I will tell share how I spent my Juneteenth!

Juneteenth!!!! πŸ–€πŸ–€πŸ–€πŸ–€πŸ–€

I had Juneteenth off work, which was surprising to me because my FT job selectively picks and chooses which holidays it recognizes. I lucked out and was very grateful to sleep in.

My bestie and I planned to have brunch together, and we chose a Black-owned restaurant, Mimosa’s.

My bestie and I try anytime we meet up to arrive on time, and it’s a lose-lose.

EVERY. TIME.

We were thirty minutes late, and they had to give our table away. Understandably so. One day, we will be on time.

The hostess added our names to a wait list, and we walked around the neighborhood in the meantime, looking at Black Art while enjoying the sunshine.

It really was a nice day. I live for the days when I can sleep in, methodically refusing to let every single moment of my day go unstructured.

That is the ultimate dream. We are not meant to count every moment of our lives with meetings and productivity tasks. It’s brunch and traveling for me.

I am ecstatic Juneteenth included my culture, good food, music, and spontaneous plans. Expanding my greatness.

What did you do on Juneteenth?

Tell me in the comments below πŸ‘‡πŸ½ and remember you can always call your sister 🫢🏽
