Happy Root Beer Float day, sis!
It was actually (08/6), but as hot as it is, we ALL need a float made of ice cream.

National Root Beer Float Day is celebrated annually on August 6th. It honors the classic drink made with vanilla ice cream and root beer—which was first invented as the “Black Cow” in Cripple Creek, Colorado, in 1893.*

History and Traditions
· Origin: Frank J. Wisner of the Cripple Creek Brewing Company created the drink after noticing how the moonlight on Cow Mountain looked like vanilla ice cream in a mug of root beer.
· A&W Giveaway: Major chains like A&W Restaurants celebrate by giving away free small root beer floats during specific afternoon hours (typically 2–8 p.m.) with no purchase required.
· Charity Partnerships: The annual A&W event doubles as a fundraiser for DAV (Disabled American Veterans), accepting donations and selling collectible mugs.
I honestly learned something new with my research because I didn’t know Root Beer Float Day has origins in Colorado! Can we make the whole month Black Cow Month?

I enjoy root beer floats but lately my health has been on a down slope so I will not be enjoying a root beer float but I did but a bottle of Root Beer to indulge a bit for this fun summer holiday. Celebrate however you’d like!
