Hey sisterhood!
🫶🏽 We haven’t talked since last year! I know it’s a cheesy joke, but it’s my favorite one for the new year. I promise you I will not say “New Year, New You” in this blog post.
NOPE. We are not that kind of sisterhood.
Last year was a hard one. Specifically December. It seemed that the chaos swirled around me like a spring tornado in the Midwest, and I counted the days down till the new year appeared.
I think we all sighed collectively when the clock turned over to January 1, 2026. I know I did!
I bet you are salivating with anticipation over what our theme for this year is…..I won’t leave you in suspense.

The theme for 2026 is “Expand Your Greatness, Queen!”

Before someone asks, “Isn’t that the same theme as last year?” No, although it is similar.
Last year was about discovering your happiness and knowing what that looks like for you.
This year is about expanding how great you are from what we learned and discovered last year! Did you discover your love of origami or sewing? Did you relearn how to make your grandmother’s favorite recipes?
Let’s expand on that, queen!
I am excited to see where this year will take me. I made a personal promise to work on my writing more efficiently, and 2025 was full of wins. I spoke at DU (University of Denver) on an author’s panel, I attended a Black History Month Poetry Slam, I performed at several Open Mic Nights, and my poetry was published in two different publications.
Whoo!!! 🎉
This felt like the universal sign that when I am intentional and grind my butt off, blessings will abound.
I am going to continue that for this year to see how far I can go!
