Forgiveness is hard. Healing is a challenge. For National Day of The Forgiveness
(September 27th), I want to share with you my journey of forgiveness.
“Char, forgiveness isn’t a journey.”
Yes, it is. It is a long, winding journey that helps you see yourself and others with more empathy. We talk about grace in this sisterhood, such as how to give yourself and others grace. Let me tell you…giving myself grace is leaps and bounds easier than giving others grace.
I have to actively hand a person grace who has hurt me? Um, excuse me? 🤯

Nope.
NOPE is my initial response.
Then I remember I want grace from others, and I want to be a blessing. I have to then decide…
“Am I more important than that person?”
OR
“Can I offer them grace, and can we both have the opportunity to heal from this situation?”

I am not saying it is easy…(see above when I say forgiveness is hard.)
National Day of the Forgiveness (September 27th) highlights the powerful and healing process of forgiveness. The purpose of this day is to highlight realistic methods to incorporate forgiveness into your life.*
- Forgiveness can include forgiving yourself for not speaking up in a situation.
- Forgiving yourself for losing your identity through grief.
- Forgiving loved ones & friends for statements or actions they have made.
- Forgiving a coworker for taking credit for your work.
The list goes on. Do you see yourself in any of these scenarios?
Forgiveness sets you free from the person, situation, and trauma.

Life is too short to be angry. Live for you and let go of bitterness.
Need help? There are seminars and self-help books to help you get through this. Admitting “I need to forgive them” is step one in the journey.
