My therapist told me yesterday I need to stop carrying the weight of others and do something I enjoy. On Sundays, I prep my breakfasts and lunches for the week. It’s a lot of cooking, but I have fun creating my menu. This week I am having peanut butter granola with parfaits, chorizo biscuit sandwiches, and breakfast for burritos. Lunch will be a Cobb salad, a cheeseburger, Buffalo Mac n cheese, and a quesadilla. Another thing I love doing is sleep.

It sounds silly, but sleeping is the one activity I look forward to each day. My bed has lots of pillows and fluffy comforters. It’s what I imagine sleeping on a cloud is like. I slept till almost one, and only woke up when Via told me I was missing the KC Chiefs football game, Football is the only acceptable answer to me being awake. And bacon. 😂

Today’s gratitude is rest. The past year I have gotten better at listening to what my body needs instead of pushing through.

I am human and need rest.

Needing rest isn’t a bad thing. Once rested we are energized to continue. When I prep food on Sunday, it takes hours. I take breaks, and I don’t feel bad for needing rest. This is a reminder that if you a tired, take a rest. Nap. Watch a tv show. Meditate. You deserve it. I am grateful for rest and the wisdom to know when I should. 🫶🏽

Tomorrow is Day 11! We are almost done 😁
