It’s Midsummer Sparkle, sis! ✨Are you sparkling?

In this end-of-month blog post, I will share how to enjoy the end of summer with some sparkle for cheap. I just got back from vacay, and let me say I feel invigorated. It was much needed. I wasn’t scrolling through social media. I was creating memories, being a tourist, and my uniform was shorts and tank tops. I strongly encourage you to take a relaxing time off too. It doesn’t have to be expensive. Take a weekend trip and spend it doing activities instead of bingeing TV and hanging in sweats the whole time. Life is about living!

You can do a staycation too! Make it worth your while. Rent a hotel room, swim in the pool, go to a restaurant, and enjoy good food and laughs. Taking time off isn’t expensive. It’s much needed for rest, for self-care, and for YOU!

My favorite inexpensive summer activities

A trip to the lake. Pack a cooler with food and drinks, pack a bag with your favorite book and feel-good music, and wear a cute summer outfit to sparkle in!

Local Festivals/Concerts. It’s summer, and there are farmers’ markets and summer festivals/events to take part in. Most of them are free or cost very little to attend. Enjoy local music and food, and take some pics to document your fun experience!

Online communities. I mention this because you may not know what’s in your area. Joining a local group online or searching your city on Eventbrite’s website will tell you what events are available! Checking out rec centers and local libraries for events is a great resource too.

Offline. I found this app called Offline, and it works in different cities. You get credits each month to spend at different restaurants. Each restaurant offers different discounts, such as $10-30 off a meal. I use it often, and it saves me money on new restaurants.

Whatever way you choose to spend your summer, sparkle, have fun, and enjoy the sunshine.

Remember, you can always call your sister 🫶🏽
