I’ve never liked resolutions. They seem easy to set, but when you change your mind, it doesn’t take much convincing to quit. From our first blog post, we decided ‘no resolutions for us’!

We create a theme each year and plan our posts around it. This is how we are living the theme every day. 365.

Quitting is really easy. Especially when you don’t have someone holding you accountable. No one is going to knock on your door and chastise you for eating cake instead of a kale salad.

This is not meant to rain on anyone’s parade of choosing a resolution. It does work for some! Now let me throw some statistics your way because I am that kinda sis. ☺️

A 2022 study revealed that less than half of those who make New Year’s resolutions have kept them intact six months later. Change is difficult for humans’ no matter the date, but to successfully effect change, you need to understand how the brain actually supports motivation.*

It’s less about willpower than our brain’s resistance to change.

The first time I saw a nutritionist, I was scared and overwhelmed.

Can I eat my favorite candy?

Will I have to eat fruit instead of cake on my birthday?

Will I be a veggie girl?

👈🏼 I didn’t want this to be me.

When my nutritionist told me ‘everything is a balance and to not feel bad for wanting dessert,’ I exhaled.

“Omg, I can still eat a PB cup!!” 🙌🏽

In the beginning, some days I did really well, then I’d have a day where everything was a carb.

The more I practiced eating better, the easier it became… and I felt less guilty when I ate a cheeseburger and fries.

We are capable of change.

This is why you hear “consistency is key” when you are trying a new hobby/workout/skill.

Picking up a paintbrush once won’t make you a renowned artist.

But… Practicing every day for 2026, now you’re expanding your greatness, queen. 😉

Remember, you can always call your sister. 🫶🏽
