Kindness is free.

Thinking about the past five to ten years, our kindness meter has been teetering on nonexistent. It saddens me when I show another human a touch of kindness and their reaction is shock. They are shocked to see that another human is being kind to them.

Showing kindness doesn’t take from you. In my experience it feels good to show kindness to others. To hear that unexpected thank you or a smile in response to being kind. I have seen in social settings people shy away from engaging strangers or attempting to be kind.

“I don’t need your help.”

I will never let the cruel world diminish my kindness and inner joy.

I think it’s my superpower. Granting a little sparkle in others’ lives. ✨

I have been told I am too optimistic, but I honestly don’t know what that means. We need more kindness in the world.

More: “Here, take my basket; I am about to leave”, when you see a woman looking for a cart to shop with.

We need more…. holding the elevator door for a neighbor carrying heavy bags.

We need more smiles, courtesies, and looking out for one another.

We need less racism and more understanding.

We have been silent too long, and the world needs to be less cruel. How will you share some kindness today?
