ANGELS I HAVE MET

I was sitting on the bench by the pharmacy while my daughter finished shopping. I was a little winded and needed to catch my breath. I had my head down, not paying attention to passersby. I felt a touch on my arm, and a small voice asked,

“Honey, are you alright?”

I looked up to see the kindest eyes framed by a walnut-brown wrinkled face. Her brow was creased with years of concern for others.

I smiled as my eyes welled with tears. “Yes, ma’am.” I answered.

This stranger, who had lived more years than I, was asking if I was alright. She was leaning on her cart and was supported by a young man. At that moment, she was an angel as she stopped to share concern for another.

God has used me to show kindness to others. It’s not hard and does not take long. I have given water on a hot day to a stranger outside 7-Eleven. I have fed the transient near the library. It seems like people are leaning towards kindness. One small act of kindness can change the path of someone’s life.

Sisters, I challenge you for the next three days to be kind to five people each day. Choose five different people. It can be your family, but choose at least two strangers. Open a door. Let someone with fewer groceries go ahead of you.

Pay for someone’s coffee.

Sit with a different person at lunch.

Greet your neighbor. These are simple but meaningful ways to show kindness.

We can all do something.

No act is too small. It definitely makes a difference. Post your kindness experience in the comments below ⬇️

Remember, you can always call your sister 💕!
