Day 7.

We have lasted a full week of gratitude! Do you feel refreshed? Drained? Overwhelmed? Let me know in the comments. The good news is the first week is the most difficult. You got this! Don’t overwhelm yourself. Give yourself grace. 😁

Onward to the gratitude!!! πŸ–€

Today’s gratitude is growth. Growth is important. Growing as a person intellectually, mentally, etc. Any growth is a win in the plus column. The past year I have worked on my health (mentally and physically), fitness, and getting to know me better. Today I feel my growth was tested. I have a problem with speaking my mind a bit too much at work and in the past it has caused problems. I had the chance to speak my mind today (rather angrily) and instead, I abstained.

This week has shown me that getting angry is not worth it. The one mom-ism that has stuck with me is “pick your battles”.

Will arguing with my manager over taking a day off be worth it?

Is there a better way I can get my point across without losing my cool?

Is it worth getting upset?

These questions went through my mind, and I stayed silent. The feeling of maturity and keeping my peace gave me a better feeling than blowing up like a teakettle.

Silence is an answer. Growth is not always saying the last word. When I was younger, I wanted the last word. I had dozens of debates on the fact I couldn’t leave the argument alone.

Growth.

How are you growing? Tomorrow is Day 8!

Remember you can always call your sister 🫢🏽 πŸ˜‰
