April = SAAM!
The last blog focused on a personal story and resources to help you or a sister in need. To end the month on a lighter note, we want to inspire you with our theme of the year! This month has been hard for me. Sometimes you meet people who you think are for you, but the tides change quickly, and you realize they want to use you for your light.
They may have enjoyed being around your confidence or your joy, but out of jealousy or indifference, they show their true colors and drift away, or you are forced to make a decision. I prefer them to drift away like leaves in the wind. It takes the decision-making away from me.
If you find yourself standing alone, unsupported by stale friendships, remember that change can be uncomfortable, but this feeling won’t last forever. Take a deep breaths. You are amazing. This does not mean your friendships will all be stale. It just means it didn’t work out, and most of the time, something ending has nothing to do with you.
As Abraham Lincoln said, “You can’t please all of the people all of the time.”
The truth emerges, and as long as you stand with truth, that is what matters. I set out last year to create meaningful relationships, and I was ecstatic at my progress in last year’s theme. 2026’s theme “Expand Your Greatness. Queen”! I am focusing on the loyal people in my life who care for me deeply, not on surface-level conversations.
Being social is essential to my self-care, and it makes me feel super-powered when I give my energy to people who reciprocate. May we all expand on our greatness in relationships, self-care, and beyond.
Be gentle to yourself with grace, and remember you can always call your sister 🙌🏽.
