I just heard about the M.E.S.S Method. It is a nice way to get in a little self-care every day.

Let’s talk about M.E.S.S.

Life throws a lot of mess our way.

We can push back with some good mess of our own

Mental: I like meditation. I look out my patio door and take in the clouds, the tree tops moving in the wind.

I let my mind drift while washing dishes.

Emotional: It is hard for me to get in touch with my emotions. Feeling my feelings is important for my mental health. I will sit quietly in a safe space and let the feelings come.

Spiritual: My spiritual life is very important to me. I check in with God when I wake up. I touch base with the Lord of my salvation throughout the day. I can’t imagine a day without spending time with God.

Social: This one I struggle with. I used to be very social. Then Covid shut down the country. After 2020, I battled agoraphobia until 2023. I still struggle with depression and social anxiety. With more practice and prayer, I will conquer this too.

The M.E.S.S. Method helps me remember to include each piece in my daily routine.
